I have known Marc since 2010, and we have worked together in several different working environments. It started off with me being Marc’s consultant for matters concerning venture capital. Later, I was a member of his supervisory board at legodo. We worked together to successfully conclude an M&A transaction with the company Actuate Corporation.
However, one of Marc’s greatest accomplishes was when he further developed the business model for Enterprise Software to Software as a Service (SaaS). This project was very complex as it required the following challenges:
- Further developing the products’ technology by equipping them with hybrid cloud and on-premise architecture
- Establishing new processes and standards on how to successfully perform IT operations and to offer customers the highest level of availability possible
- Developing new and improved user experiences by making them ideal for all mobile device
One of the key factors that made his project work so successfully was Marc’s competent expertise in product and IT management combined with his understanding for software architecture and technology. These newly established business models were successful as they opened up new business opportunities that were once impossible. These models soon became the standard to follow and the beginning to internationalization.
